Mice and Rats

Differences between mouse and rat

To begin with, we must be clear that the rat and the mouse are not of the same species. The rat belongs to the Rattus genus which includes up to 57 different species such as Rattus rattus or Rattus norvegicus. The mouse, on the other hand, belongs to the genus Mus and we find about 38 very different species, including the Mus musculus, known as the "house mouse". Physically and in general we can distinguish a mouse from a rat by its size: rats can measure up to almost 40 centimeters while the mouse is smaller, its dimensions vary from 3 to 10 cm (although some can reach 15).

Specifications

  • The best way to physically differentiate a rat from a mouse is its physiognomy, taking into account small details: rats have larger legs, the ears of the mouse are proportionally larger than those of the rat
  •  the tail of the mouse is long, thin and hairyrat tail is long, thick, bicoloured and hairless
  • rats are gray / dark brown gray / tan mice
  • the nose of the mouse is triangular and pointed that of the square rat
  • The whiskers of mice tend to be longer than that of the rat, as they have slightly impaired vision, which they compensate with a highly developed hearing and smell.

Deratization

Rodent control is the procedure by which mice and rats are captured or killed in public and private environments, both to avoid public health problems, as mice are carriers of numerous diseases, and to prevent contamination of the premises.because of the excrement of these rodents. Rodent control therefore improves the environment and improves the perception of cleanliness and efficiency by users. The activity of mice and rats damages electrical systems and can cause short circuits, interruption of connections and consequently economic damage. The proliferation of these animals is due to the presence of waste, which they eat, but also to the absence of natural predators.

Our methods

Monitoring

Each rodent control intervention is effective only if accompanied by constant monitoring, even in the area surrounding the treated area. In fact, short-term interventions that do not consider the surrounding environment guarantee the success of the intervention.

Respect for directives

There are several ways in which rodent control is currently performed: there are killer baits (rat poison, poisons), traps (killer, with baits, etc.), non-lethal ultrasound methods, etc. Each method must always and in any case comply with the directives of the HACCP protocol which provide that the possibility of contaminating the environment and food must be eliminated

Diversification by environments

Consequently, the best rodent control method is the one that uses mechanical traps, but this is not always possible. While mechanical traps (with glue, multiple capture and without poisonous baits) can be used inside the factories, poisonous baits can be placed in outdoor environments.

Innovative Methods

Mimetic Mhouse

Mimetic-Mhouse is an innovative multi-capture trap for mice and rats, practical, versatile and environmentally friendly, it allows to control mouse infestations without using poisons and without danger for people or other non-target animals. The particular priming system allows the rodent to become familiar with the trap and eat undisturbed before capture so as not to arouse mistrust in the other members of the population. Captured rodents fall into an internal collection container that prevents any contamination of the surrounding environment. The deodorizing liquid to be combined with the Mimetic Mhouse prevents the onset of unpleasant odors following capture, allowing the exterminator to program the steps at the normal frequency.

Electronic Mouse Killer

The trap is designed for indoor application, it offers a valid alternative to traditional methods in all areas where chemicals cannot be used. The system is equipped with metal plates that are activated automatically when the rodent passes, for an instant and immediate killing by electric shock, the high voltage discharge causes death without causing suffering.

Mousetrap Kit

A24 traps are environmentally friendly and toxin-free and have been designed to save you time and effort with easy set-up. Attracted by a long-lasting lure for rats or stoats, once triggered the dead pests fall out of the trap which resets instantly at least 24 times per CO2 cylinder takes less time to monitor.
